This position is responsible for procuring electronic and electro-mechanical components, raw materials, and other production supplies at the optimum, price, quality, and service. Authorizes purchase orders within established guidelines. Monitors supplier performance and recommends and facilitates corrective action for recurring quality or delivery problems. Reviews requisitions for accuracy of technical information, quantity, specification, requisitioner authority, and shipping instructions. Reviews purchase orders and engineering specifications for clarity, product usage, and inventory carry cost. Participates in value and cost/price analysis. Arranges for delivery including required documentation and packaging (if applicable). Participates in value analyses, cost/price analyses, and make or buy decisions, and validating cost estimates included with requisition where applicable. Researches discrepancies in invoices with Accounts Payable and corrects with suppliers. Resolves issues with Shipping and Receiving regarding receipt of damaged goods, short shipments, and documentation discrepancies.

We are requiring 3-5 Years experience in a Buyers position with electronic manufacturing systems including demonstrated negotiation skills with all levels of suppliers and internal customers. Additional experience in purchasing electronic components for New Product Introduction is highly desired. Must have sound working knowledge of purchasing principles, including the ability to research, analyze, negotiate, and close various types of purchase orders. Must possess a sound working knowledge of PC based software packages including Excel and Word. Requires experience with MRP, experience in Oracle ERP system a definite plus.
