Market Research Manager

Are you looking for an opportunity to lead the market research for a name brand CPG company? If so, this is the company for you.  Our client in Eastern Wisconsin is looking for a candidate with 10-12 years of market research experience from a top CPG company to join its team and lead the market research efforts and strategy.


Role Priorities:

Take the company to the next level as a world-class company through consumer insights and knowledge.

Strategic Planning: Partner with Director of Marketing and Brand Managers to establish an Opportunity Identification & Strategic Planning process for marketing research. Lead the planning process and implementation for marketing research.Put in place plans, processes, resources, and consumer-based actions to realize Marketing’s growth goals. Product Development and Marketing: Work with key Marketing, Agency, Sales and R&D Members to improve the overall process for creating, developing and deploying Exceptional & Unique Products. Develop “best in the industry” product research process, refined for the company’s current and future product categories and entrepreneurial culture Work with New Product Manager, identifying key new product opportunities. Learn and practice new product “best practice” system, along with providing on-going input to adapt the system to the company’s categories, culture, and marketplace Work with R&D and Marketing team, to help set product development and management priorities.
Ensure that both:  1) identified new product concepts, and 2) existing products are maximized through consumer and customer input at all phases of development, launch, and ongoing management Information Services: Lead the effort to maximize the use of primary and secondary consumer research within the company. Partner with the Category Management Team to position the company as the knowledge and thought leader in the category industry. Promote increased awareness and use of consumer insights among the entire Company to form the basis of all decision-making. Create and expand consumer information library, including establishing an on-going system of archiving primary research for easy and immediate access to members.

 

Measurements of Success: Gain relevant consumer insight that drives results in the marketing place; Advertising & Communication, New Products, Product Improvements, category management. Develop a partnership network of world class marketing research suppliers that are engaged in the business. Flawless execution of marketing research projects.  On budget, on time.
 

You will have the opportunity to: Provide leadership and support for the design, development and implementation of new products and services that are Unique & Exceptional in the eye of our customers and consumers. Accountable for all marketing research, including:

1. Identification of new product and category opportunities (including flavor extensions)
2. Measurement of potential for new products and categories
3. Product positioning research
4. Product-mix studies
5. Packaging research
6. Pricing research
7. Media/communication research (development and effectiveness tracking)
8. Creation of project timelines and on-time delivery of results
9. Partnering with R&D and Category Management to provide as-needed assistance.  As well as provide project direction for product evaluations andcustomer/channel support and understanding
10. As needed, will manage international marketing research projects in partnership with Director of Marketing.
11. Be an agent of change and innovation.  Create new systems, concepts, products, strategic relationships, and practices.

 

Qualifications:
What you must bring to the job MBA or Masters in Marketing Research Minimum of 10-12 years experience in market research with 5-7 years of experience within a Top Tier Consumer Goods Company Must be innovative and a strong executor Strong communication skills. Experience in managing marketing research budgets and multiple projects
