Creative Product Designer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 

Creative Product Design

· Conducts category product and design analysis, to understand current trends in the marketplace.

· Creates and conceptualizes new product concepts for Stravina Personalized products based on strategic marketing direction.

· Develops turnover direction for Asia development consisting of product rendering, and clear design direction on costing, features, sizing and materials.

· Works with Graphic Artist and engineers on package structure development.

· Works with the design group, marketing, project management, development planning and Hong Kong throughout the entire product development process.

· Art Directs as needed after the project is transferred to HK Agent and enters the final development, final mechanical art and pre-manufacturing stages.

· Works with internal and external resources to develop product samples.

· Leads Creative Brainstorms and Marketing Product Review meetings.

· Strong sense of design aesthetics and style for consumer products 

· Strong problem solver who can conceptualize, adapt and develop concepts rapidly. Can 'think different’

· Good verbal communication skills: written, oral and graphic

· High-energy self-starter

· Ability to do hands-on presentation/development work in 2-D (graphic presentations) and 3-D (prelim. Model-making)

· Ability to use Photoshop and Illustrator.

Experience

 

· Has knowledge and experience with consumer products design in fashion accessories, toys, stationary or plastic products.

· Experience with manufacturing process and  development of cost input sheets (proposed sizes, materials, manufacturing processes and aesthetics)

· Experience with quality and safety requirements for consumer goods products

· Experience managing free-lance designers and artists.

 

 

 

 

Education/Experience Requisites

 

BSID or equivalent

4 years experience
