Director, Project Management

Provides overall direction for the operation, planning, and development of facilities project management to meet organizational goals and objectives. Directs the coordination, scheduling, budgeting and completion of short-range and long-range projects.  Responsible for the financial performance and continued client relationship of the project management service.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

Develops short-term and long-term business development plans for all assigned regions.

 

Develops new project management opportunities within an assigned region. Develops project budget and schedule.

 

Manage and lead individuals and teams by setting directions, communicating and exhibiting effective leadership behaviors to manage business and processes. Selects project teams including hiring, coaching, counseling, and evaluating staff.  Train staff members on provision and enforcement of company project standards and procedures.

 

Ensure the use of consistent and repeatable project management standardized processes and effective use of tracking and reporting tools to effectively communicate project progress and financial status.

 

Oversees existing account management within assigned region.  Ensures that account managers are meeting client and contractual obligations of service.

 

Manages the client invoice process to ensure all invoices are paid.

 

Assists the transaction team during the transition process and the building/site selection.

 

Develops positive relationships with clients and vendors. Maintains high customer service and satisfaction level of all clients.  Advises clients regarding issues that are recurring or of a sensitive nature.

 

Other duties may be assigned.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the planning, organization, and controls for separate activities in a department. Formally supervises individual employees and/or subordinate supervisors within a department. Responsible for identifying training needs, tracking performance, coaching, and motivating direct reports.  Directly or indirectly responsible for hiring, terminating, compensation, and performance evaluation for entire department.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university and a minimum of six to ten years of related experience and/or training. Architectural or Building Construction degree preferred.

 CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES

  PMI certification is favorable.

 COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues.  Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles using distinctive style.  Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups.  Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires advanced financial skills and knowledge to review complex financial reports prepared by others.  Provides recommendations to executives that impact a line of business.



 REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve advanced problems and deal with a variety of options in complex situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills.  Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

 OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. 

 SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results.  Responsible for setting project, department and/or division deadlines. Errors in judgement may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
