Systems Architecture Design and Integration Directorate (SADID). SADID is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within IDS. More than 1000 employees of SADID provide requirement definition and design at the system, subsystem and component level. Supporting these activities is modeling and simulation, system effectiveness and operational analysis, radar systems design, algorithm development, tracking and discrimination.
This assignment is for work at the
TI3, LLC Joint Partnership facility in Huntsville, AL . The location is co-resident with our joint partner and Government customer.
This position is for a chief systems engineer to lead and direct a systems engineering team which will define the Integrated Air and Missile Defense and System of Systems (IAMD/SoS) architecture and requirements. The chief systems engineer will be a direct report to the TI3 Engineering Director, and will be expected to act as TI3 Engineering Director as the need arises.
This position is eligible to participate in Raytheon's annual bonus incentive program.
Specific duties will include:
- Lead, motivate, mentor and network positive TI3 relationships within the Air and Missile Defense Systems Engineering community.
- Develop a System Engineering Management Process that is of a non-typical system centric approach and lends itself to a broader system of systems domain
- Understand and apply the DoD mandated Net-Ready Key Performance Parameter to IAMD generation of SoS requirements
- Direct a joint venture team of systems engineers to conduct performance analyses and trade studies for one or more IAMD systems
- Perform administrative supervision for 6 to 10 Raytheon systems engineers on the integrated team
Basic Qualifications
- At least 15 years experience in Air and Missile Defense (AMD) systems engineering, particularly in developing requirements, conducting performance analyses and preparing trade studies, performing functional allocation.
- Thorough understanding of JCIDS 5000 development acquisition processes to include DoD and Army system development practices such as decision review sequence, entrance and exit criteria, software development practices, and test and evaluation requirements.
- Thorough understanding and experience with industry standard systems engineering processes and practices.
- Experience leading system engineering teams.
- Knowledge of existing Army AMD system programs such as PATRIOT, SLAMRAAM, JLENS and MEADS.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Secret or higher clearance.
Desired skills
- Understand Net Ready Key Performance Parameters and its application to IAMD.
- Understand and have applied DoDAF methodology and artifacts.
- Operational experience in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and OIF lessons learned, especially in communications connectivity.
- Top secret clearance.
Required education
BS in ME, EE, Physics or related technical discipline, MS in engineering is preferred.
Special work requirements
1. Frequent CONUS business travel is expected.
2. Candidate will be required to sign and comply with an Organization Conflict of Interest (OCI) agreement that prevents TI3 employees from contributing (e.g. capture team/proposal team) for PEO M&S new business capture for two years after leaving TI3. The OCI does not prevent individuals from working on awarded PEO M&S contracts after leaving TI3.
