Systems Architecture Design and Integration Directorate (SADID). SADID is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within IDS. More than 1000 employees of SADID provide requirement definition and design at the system, subsystem and component level. Supporting these activities is modeling and simulation, system effectiveness and operational analysis, radar systems design, algorithm development, tracking and discrimination.
The
Joint Land Attack Cruise Missile Defense Elevated Netted Sensor (JLENS) program is currently looking for an experienced systems engineering lead to join its team in Huntsville, AL. JLENS is developing aerostat mounted radars with associated ground control equipment for multiple, flexible, military missions. The lead systems engineer will work for the Communications and Processing Group (CPG) Integrated Product Team (IPT) which is responsible for developing the ground control and communications equipment.
Position Description : The JLENS CPG systems engineer will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to specify and design a computer and network system for the ground control equipment. The Computer and Network team lead will have total responsibility for developing the Critical Item Development Specifications and the resulting design/architecture. Team lead will assist is developing staffing needs and selecting team staff. Currently estimate total team to be in the range of three to four engineers.
Basic Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience developing Critical Item requirements for large systems.
- This experience includes having the overall development responsibility for one or more specifications end-to-end.
- Demonstrated experience developing computer and network systems which include classified and unclassified processing, switching, and communications gear.
- Secret or higher clearance.
- Ability to travel within the U.S.
Desired Skills :
The following additional skills would also be beneficial:
- Experience implementing Information Assurance architectures for large scale systems.
- Experience in technical management of technical staff in a design effort.
- Air Defense Battle Management Command, Control, Communications, and Computer (BMC4) domain knowledge.
- Experience with VME or other single board computer type architecture.
- Network certification is a definite plus.
Required education
BS in ME, EE, Physics, Computer Science, or related technical discipline.
