About the Opportunity
Technology Purchasing Coordinator & Admin: This position shall be responsible for all purchasing at VNS. Candidate should have a basic understanding of computer technology products, and enjoy negotiating with distributors for optimal pricing. Must be computer literate; requires MS Excel, Outlook and Internet knowledge. In this position you are responsible for purchasing function and will contribute to the overall development and profitability of VNS by managing inventory acquisition. You will be responsible for taking delivery of all products purchased.

 



Position requires familiarity with QuickBooks and that all purchases be recorded into QuickBooks. Purchasing background helpful, but not required – we will teach the right candidate. Job includes phone coverage, typing (min 50 wpm) & maintaining purchasing logs. Successful candidate will be required to work with outside suppliers as well as internal customers. Candidate will effectively implement purchasing processes, communicate with staff and vendors regarding purchasing orders/issues, and ensure the best product quality/pricing.

The idea candidate should be organized and detail oriented and have a friendly personality.  If you have had some computer training and have a cert such as an A+ or MCP, even better, but it's not a requirement.  The most important things are that you are organized, a quick learner, reliable, and can think on your feet and negotiate when needed. Additionally, we are a service company, and derive our revenue from providing consulting services to our clients, so it's extremely important that technical staff members make themselves billable here.  To that end, compensation up to, and possibly beyond the probationary period may be based solely upon billable work, requiring the employee to successfully demonstrate that they can be a productive member of the team.  The hourly pay rate will be commensurate with a competitive salaried rate, and is based upon technical skills/ability, certification(s) and the ability to effectively communicate with, and manage your customers.  Technical staff who can effectively collaborate with the sales team, and keep a good channel of communications open with their customer base will be successful here.
