Technical Support Specialist (Level II)

This is a Full-Time position working as a member of a small IT support team providing Level II support for desktops in a Windows 2000 / XP environment.

Candidates should have some experience in a Microsoft 2000/2003 AD environment or Windows Small business server environment.

 

FUNCTION:
This position involves providing remote phone support to 50+ high end golf courses and small business throughout the United States. We also provide implementation services in setting up new servers and workstations as new customers come online.  On occasions this will entail short periods of travel which is optional and not a requirement for the position.


DUTIES: Provide a positive customer service experience over the phone. Provide hardware and software troubleshooting. Provide Technical training to end users as requested or needed. Installation and configuration of Windows 2003 Server and Windows XP operating systems. Install & troubleshoot software applications. Configure & Troubleshoot clients in an Exchange 2003 Environment. Removal of  Spyware, Adware & Viruses. Troubleshoot peripheral devices, (Touch screen Monitors, Scanners, Card Swipes & Printers). Provide server maintenance such as backup monitoring, apply BIOS/Firmware updates and installation security patches. Configure and troubleshoot backup jobs using the Symantec Backup Exec software. Demonstrate the ability to multi-task amid frequent interruptions, changes and delays.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have working knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory, Microsoft Server 2000/2003, Windows 2000/2003 AD administration, Windows 2000/XP, Microsoft Office Products and basic networking troubleshooting. Candidates must have a strong understanding of TCP/IP network technologies.  Knowledge of wireless technologies a plus but not required.

 

EDUCATIONAL PREFERENCES

High school graduate with some vocational or college preferred.

 

CERTIFICATIONS

At least one MCP Exam in Windows 2000/2003 or Windows XP OS is Preferred..
