SR. SYSTEMS ANALYST - PROGRAMMER

The selected candidate will be expected to analyze, develop, implement, and maintain efficient data processing systems and securely provide dynamic business solutions for USA Truck, Inc. This includes satisfying all user requirements, preserving the integrity of confidential information, and strictly adhering to all departmental and corporate standards. Sr. Systems Analyst is responsible for assisting and training other programmers as needed to support productivity.

 

Job Functions:
Develop new projects that meet user requirements and specific programming standards.
Provide maintenance for assigned application systems in a timely manner.
Assist other Systems Analysts/Programmers with project development and maintenance issues.
Complete daily status reports.
Research and complete work orders.
Train users to efficiently and properly utilize both new and existing data systems.
Facilitate monthly meetings with departmental heads for project prioritizing and associated discussions.
Provide 24-hour on call support for systems to insure accuracy, availability, data integrity and security.
Determine future needs by analyzing current systems.

 

Core Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field.
3 - 5 years related work experience in software development with proven ability to support projects through design, coding testing, implementation, and maintenance.
Proficient experience in the use of programming languages and databases.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Preferred Skills:  COBOL, SQL, DB2, CICS, JCL, MVS, TSO, QMF, ISPF/SDSF, HTML, ASP, Visual Basic, web development, Windows, and all Microsoft Office applications.
