Database Administrator

Lead data analysis and data modeling efforts in support of client server software development.  Mapping business processes and data needs to storage and retrieval requirements.  Define security requirements, backup and recovery criteria.  Responsible for data modeling, database administration and coordination with the development team as changes occur.  Partner with customers to determine database sizing and partitioning needs.  Coordinate with the architecture group on data flow as needed.

 

 

Education:
Bachelor's (B.S.) Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems from a four-year college or university (Master’s degree a plus) or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.

Experience:
3+ years progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/technologies/processes related to architectural design to include:
• Large-scale and highly reliable databases
• Hundreds of databases
• Large volume of data (40 terabytes)
 
Technical Skills:
• Experience installing, recovering, creating backups, reconfiguring and monitoring SQL Server 2000
• Development and maintenance of T-Sql
• SQL Server index and stored procedure tuning
• Familiarity with SQL Litespeed
• SQL “pass-thru” queries”
• SQL Server 2000 security configurations
• Access and VB6 experience
