We have the following opportunity in our ST. LOUIS, MO location.
You will work on key corporate initiatives and will play a role in shaping Express Scripts’ future by managing and contributing to strategic initiatives. He/she will be involved in the strategic planning process and “externally focused,” responsible for leading strategic business development activity to support Express Scripts’ business and growth strategies – from evaluation through implementation.
You must demonstrate the ability to think strategically and facilitate discussions to reach decisions regarding potential opportunities. This person will lead the identification, evaluation, negotiation, and implementation of these opportunities. To do so, he/she will lead or participate in cross-functional teams, comprised of individuals from many levels within the organization.
This person will also participate in government affairs (e.g., electronic prescribing legislation). In addition, this person will be accountable for the governance of JVs, including RxHub.
Specific activities may include:
• Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions and alliance opportunities and present recommendations to Senior Staff on potential candidates
• Make recommendations to Senior Staff on new business development opportunities
• Assist in due diligence and implementation
• Manage cross-functional teams to evaluate the opportunity, and translate recommendation into action
• Perform market research, determine financial viability, perform scenario analysis
• Design legal structures of relationships
• Plan and execute a marketing/integration strategy
• Negotiate with external parties
• Manage ongoing relationships; participate in ongoing governance of JVs
• Participate in government affairs
Qualifications:
10+ yrs of relevant experience
Proven track record in Business Development, M&A, or Strategic Planning
Knowledge of and experience in the PBM industry or Healthcare
Advanced problem solving skills (critical thinking, creativity, innovation)with the ability to work cross-functionally at all levels within the organization to resolve issues and generate results among potentially conflicting constituencies
Strong modeling skills and financial analysis
Strategic mindset. Ability to “connect the dots” across the company.
Excellent communications skills – both verbal and written
Strong interpersonal skills; strong negotiating and influencing skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage work load and meet deadlines
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, or related field. MBA preferred
