Facilities Coordinator

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB
Plant Engineering Maintenance/Operations, Facility Maintenance Management Division has an opening for a Field Coordinator/Low Voltage Outage Permit Coordinator. Under general supervision, will perform a combination of technical & administrative support duties.
Responsible for the coordination and input of Equipment Electrical Panel Schedules and Building Drain information into the appropriate database programs for their assigned areas. Will create and/or modify AutoCAD drawings for each of the above disciplines and when completed, convert to GIS ready format. Will assist at coordinating low voltage outages for Plant Engineering. Will regularly interact with LLNL Shop first and second line supervisors, Facility Point of Contacts, Construction Managers, LLNL Inspectors, Low Voltage Engineer, and Maintenance Coordinators. Will report to the Technical Administration Group Lead.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Identify building equipment.
- Perform Equipment Documentation through field verification, database updates, and CAD/GIS updates.
- Review & document building systems for preventive maintenance.
- Verify proper circuit numbers from power panel boards to equipment and update CAD drawings.
- Locate and modify documents such as: Electrical Panel Schedules, Electrical Panel Location drawings, Electrical one-line diagrams & Building Drain Drawings.
- Support Low Voltage Outages: Scheduling of outages, gathering all documentation, tracing out one line diagram to determine which panels downstream will be affected by outage.
- Interacting with Facility Point of Contact, Building Coordinator, Facility Managers, Construction Managers, LLNL Inspectors, Low Voltage Electrical Engineer, and Maintenance Coordinator.
- Distribution of panels for appropriate shops (pertaining to outage)
- Tracking and maintaining database.
- Update all changes of any drawings or panels from outage.
- Responsible for distribution of outage permit (opening to closing)
- Update and create new electrical panel schedules using CAD software and convert to be GIS ready.

MARGINAL DUTIES
- Third back-up for Plant Engineering Permit Desk

ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
- AA/AS degree in the appropriate technology or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Knowledgeable at identifying facility mechanical and electrical equipment for documentation purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical panel schedules and one-line drawings.
- Experience with personal computers and associated software such as MS Project, Access, Word, and Excel.
- At least one year experience using AutoCAD on a 50 – 80% basis.
- Demonstrated strong customer service skills and an ability to work independently as well as a team member in a fast paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills necessary to interact tactfully and effectively with a diverse group of personalities and disciplines.
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to handle a large volume of work.
- Demonstrated experience in handling multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and conflicting/changing priorities.
- Experience at working in a construction or facility maintenance environment.
- Experience in a customer service or support organization.
