Clinical Science Specialist/Sales Representative-Biotech

This is a field based position and the location is Birmingham/state of Alabama.  The Clinical Science Specialist is a field-based sales position calling on Health Care Professionals involved in the treatment of End Stage Renal Disease (ERSD) and dialysis patients and responsible for all aspects of sales, market development and strategic business planning and implementation for all products of responsibility. Accounts and customers include nephrologists and their staffs (Renal Dietitians, Physician Assistants, Licensed Nurse Practitioners and social workers) both in private practice and in academic (teaching) centers and hospitals. The products promoted are Renagel and Hectorol. The person promoting these products should have a strong background of working through processes like pharmacy and therapeutics committees at hospitals, or some type of account selling background. The position will be responsible for achieving and exceeding assigned monthly, quarterly and annual sales quotas. Responsibilities include meeting and supporting the Therapeutics business unit objectives. Establish and maintain rapport with key customers. Achieve Renagel program objectives within a geographically defined area. Attend local, regional and national meetings as directed. The successful candidate will have a proven sales track record as a top performer. The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and a minimum of 5-8 years of pharmaceutical/biotech sales experience and knowledge of the position's territory. Candidates must live in and have experience in the Birmingham, Alabama territory.
