Materials Manager

 

I have been engaged by my exclusive client located in central Alabama to locate and recruit a Materials Manager for their highly successful manufacturing operation  My client is a highly successful world-class tier one supplier to the automotive market in Alabama.  This is a replacement position for a long-term successful manager whom is retiring in the near future.

 

My client offers a competitive salary and benefits program to include a very generous bonus package along with relocation assistance.

 

Responsibilities will include:

 

- Materials management.

- Purchasing, Sourcing.

- Receiving, Shipping, and Warehousing.

- Production and Inventory Planning in a just-in-time environment using JDEdwards ERP software.

- Management of a staff of approximately 15 people.

 

This is an assembly environment of approximately 300 employees.

 

The successful candidate should have the following background:

 

- Four-year degree or equivalent experience.

- Five or more years managing a Materials Management (Supply Chain) Organization in a fast-paced JIT environment within the automotive sector.

- Demonstrated leadership and teaming skills.

- CPIM or CIRM preferred but not required.

- Strong communications skills.

- Background in lean/six sigma would be an additional plus.
