Manufacturing Engineer

This position is located at the Montgomery, AL facility.


Conducts a daily/weekly report-out covering performance in the following areas (by Line):


Ergonomic/Safety activity

JPH/Downtime

RTY – Total Quality defects

Poke-Yoke audit

5S activity

Maintains and updates the following Engineering Process Documentation per process change procedure:


Engineering Time Standards

ODSs/Engineering standard worksheets

PEIL documentation

Plant and facility layout (including trailer storage)

Dock/receiving schedule

Packaging Data Sheet (container data, max/min usage)

Process flow and control plan

PFMEA

Champions Problem Solving and “Man, Machine, Method” corrective actions, and coordinates with Line Quality Engineers on resolution of “Top 5”

Completes and submits monthly Engineering Measurable Package

Supports Advanced Manufacturing Planning for model year, complexity, and volume/mix changes

Supports and leads weekly continuous improvement meetings (Health & Safety, ETF, Kaizen, etc.)

Maintains and leads RTY identification and improvements

Develops “and on” and “out of control” process indicators

Performs all other tasks as requested by the Plant Manger and/or whoever may be necessary to provide our Customer with high quality, low cost, on-time products
 

EDUCATION REQUIRED / PREFERRED:
College degree or comparable experience required
Education in Engineering or Business Administration preferred
 
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED / PREFERRED:
2-4 years of experience in engineering management required
Experience with systems oriented problem solving required
