Senior Graphic Designer/Marketing

Tommy Bahama defines elegant tropical living with men's and women's fashions, denim, swimwear, accessories and a complete home furnishings collection. Tommy Bahama, the purveyor of island lifestyles, is looking for a qualified Senior Graphic Designer to join our Marketing team in our Seattle Corporate Office.

 

MISSION

 

The Senior Graphic Designer will manage all stages of creative development for projects that Marketing initiates for Tommy Bahama’s  11 different divisions. This position will be accountable for managing creative & production budgets. They will meet creative objectives on all projects within marketing as directed by the divisional Marketing Coodinator’s. The Art Manager will manage the communication with the Art department and all partners associated with the creative process. This position works very independently on designing and managing projects.



KEY RESULT AREAS



Retail MarketingResponsible for developing various creative solutions for 11 divisions Effectively communicate the visual personality of all brands Execute and art direct small photo shoots appropriate to each project as needed Manage all budgets associate with each projects Manage all creative deadlines Lead and participate in the creative development of promotions Evaluate vendors for fit including photo, printing, illustration, web etc.

 

Potential projects include:

Retail marketing will have frequent needs for printed collateral to be used across all stores on a large scale and store-specific, smaller projects.

 General Retail Marketing Needs:

· Promotion information communication packages

· Brochures

· Direct mailers

· Invitations

· Staff contests, all holiday national promotions and regional promotions

 

Retail Home

The retail home department has specific graphic design needs for packaging and product branding.

 Branded Labels & Hangtags:

· Develop in-house labels and/or templates for ongoing and new hard-good programs including candles, lighting, picture frames, glassware.  Labels would need to adhere to a variety of different hard surfaces and sizes.

· Develop in-house hangtags for ongoing and new soft-good programs including decorative pillows, runners, & table linens. 

 Branded Packaging:

· Develop basic packaging for ongoing programs in lighting, ceramics, ornaments, stationary and gift, includes development of four major product  categories (glass/ceramics, lighting, ornaments, frames)

· Original packaging for new programs and product including soaps, spa product, games, and CD’s.

 In-house Artwork:

· Original and modification of Tommy Bahama artwork for use on glassware, ceramics, soft goods, art, clocks, coasters, greeting cards, pens, etc.

 Wholesale Marketing

Wholesale Marketing supports programs for the Sales Team and our specialty retailers. Wholesale will need to produce turnkey solutions for promoting various segments of the business i.e. TB, TBW, IP, IPW, Island Soft, Swim, Golf, IPC, IPWC each with its own positioning. In addition, there are cases when we need to support sluggish business or a fun event where we cannot forecast or fit into a turnkey solution.

· Packaging, folders, closures etc.

· Direct mail pieces, fax campaigns etc.

· “Jammer” Invitation templates

· Give-away packaging

EXPERIENCE, TALENT AND EDUCATION

 

  6+ years experience in Retail Graphic Design/Illustration

In-Depth knowledge of the following software:  Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe In-Design, Adobe Acrobat Professional

Drawing/Illustration skills

Pre-press production skills

Need to work underdeadlines

Production management including negotiating printing, press checks, distribution

Ability to communicate creative concepts verbally

Strong project management skills as they relate to creative design from concept to completion.

Knowledge of computer file organization and ability to maintain libraries.

  Excellent time management skills.

  Detail oriented.

  Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Knowledge and ability to assess production standards, timelines, and quality of graphic art being produced.
