Graphic Designer

Position will manage all aspects of graphic support for client accounts and any other support needed throughout the facility.  Provide proactive management of the graphic system on an ongoing basis.  Provide a high level of customer service in order to continually increase client satisfaction and maintain proactive attitude toward Client’s needs.  Position reports to the Creative Solutions Supervisor.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·  Prepare artwork from graphic work orders (GWO) according to specs

·  Ensure all GWO’s meet deadlines required by Account Coordinators

·  Estimate graphic hours and charges to the customer

·  Conduct simple troubleshooting; contact technical support, if necessary

·  Ensure all equipment is operating and maintained properly

·  Keep abreast of new equipment/software on the market and evaluate its possibilities in the graphics area

·  Provide graphic training to new employees as required

·  Scan in, clean and size artwork received from customers

·  Convert artwork to necessary resolution and formats for various printing methods

·  Maintain knowledge of artwork specifications for plastic cards

·  Prepare art disks and/or camera ready stats for vendors and customers

·  Maintain files for mailings received from suppliers of graphic sources, etc.

·  Maintain electronic filing system and weekly backups

·  Maintain familiarity with vendor specifications regarding artwork

·  Create quarterly new Oberthur Variety Card Designs – minimum of 5 designs per quarter.

·  Maintain paper copy of graphic section of Customer Service Report; add new jobs as required

·  Prepare customer billing for graphic services and maintain client database as appropriate

·  Handle design projects form concept to completion and provide best quality designs possible to clients

·  Adhere to ISO 9000 specifications and requirements.

·  Other duties as assigned

 Required skills and abilities

· Extensive background in computer artwork, page layout, and font management.

· Advanced knowledge of both MAC and Windows platforms, and graphic applications (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Quarkxpress, and Microsoft Office).

· Ability to handle design projects from concept to completion. Work with and meet deadlines

· Ability to work with all levels of personnel, including upper management

· Strong organizational and communication skills

·  Outstanding attitude towards external and internal clients. Sense of urgency.

 Entry Level Qualifications

College degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in graphic design preferred.  High school degree (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years experience in graphic design accepted.  Proven PC/MAC proficiency with emphasis on graphic applications and software packages.
