AutoCad Architectural Drafter
Duties and Responsibilities:
The following duties are typical of the position, but are not all encompassing. Responsibilities include those required to deliver quality service on schedule and within budget in a team environment.
1. Performs a variety of routine design assignments, with increasing responsibility, under the direction of a project engineer/architect or department manager.
2. Works from both own designs and designs of others, compiles data, performs design computations, makes quantity take-offs, and assists in preparation of cost estimates.
3. Drafts interpretation of own design into completed working drawings and applies design fundamentals.
4. Develops project details, prepares selections and adapts to alternatives.
5. Maintains working knowledge of the discipline’s codes and studies non-routine code issues.
6. Performs production of construction documents.
7. Performs routine design calculations for the review of the project engineer/architect and prepares basic layouts.
8. Has occasional external customer contact.
9. Participates in continuing education and training to develop and apply innovative ideas and keep abreast of state of the art technology (e.g. evaluate and learn new software packages).
10. May direct the drafting effort, within own discipline and coordinate work effort with other disciplines.
11. May research equipment selection or materials and provide information to project engineer/architect for specifications.
12. May process shop drawings.
13. Valid driver’s license required.
High school diploma required. Associate degree in the engineering or architectural fields preferred. Minimum five (5) years experience with autocad as a Designer or seven (7) years related designer experience
Travel required.

Although the aforementioned physical demands are representative of what is required, modifications may occur which are client-specific. Training for subsequent physical demands will be given or arranged for on a project-by-project basis for those going to a unique environment. Likewise unique physical demands e.g. use of respirators, would be identified and handled in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
