South African Airways, an award winning premier carrier to Africa, is looking for a highly motivated airline professionals to join Marketing team as the Marketing Coordinator. 

MUST have prior airline or travel agency experience.

 SUMMARY:

 

This position is primarily responsible for the consolidation of reporting methods for South African Airways in the Americas. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and providing the direction for the SAA Marketing and Sales team on issues regarding distribution, scheduling, and trends.  This position is multi-faceted, in that it incorporates the sales and marketing needs in order to maximize results and provide guidance to improve revenue objectives for revenue-generation for South African Airways.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. (Other duties may be assigned and these duties may be modified or eliminated from time to time.)

 

Ø  Compile monthly sales reports as well as ad-hoc reports for Americas region.

Ø  Identify markets where Company may successfully achieve market share improvements and isolate critical issues that weaken our competitive positioning.

Ø  Track future booking trends for America’s routes and identify distress inventory opportunities.

Ø  Review/track America’s flights and monitor the following information; No-Shows, L.F%, Code Share contribution, overbooking profile, DKR effect.

Ø  Responsible for D.O.T Reporting.

Ø  Day to day contact with third party agencies relating to advertising, fulfillment, and direct marketing.

Ø  Track marketing budget in order to ensure achievement of cost targets. 

Ø  Develop tactical programs that take advantage of seasonality/timings in the market in order to maximize sales.

Ø  Work with Marketing and Corporate Communications Departments on press trip fulfillment.

Ø  Liaise with 3rd party stakeholders to provide consistent communications and best customer service. 

Required Skills:

 

Ø Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required. 

Ø  Minimum 3+ years airline and/or travel agency experience.

Ø  Working knowledge Global Dist System experience a must.  Proficiency in Amadeus preferred.

Ø  Excellent time management and planning skills.

Ø  Strong working knowledge of MS Office Applications and ability to analyze large amounts of data.

Ø  Proficient use of Database tools (Excel & Access), and ability to create presentations.

Ø  Ability to train staff to maximize the benefits of all reporting tools made available.

Ø  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both when dealing with internal and external clients.

Ø  Ability to interface with a wide range of staff levels including senior management.

Ø  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both when dealing with internal and external clients.

Ø  The ability to learn and adapt to new software systems that the company may introduce. Must have high analytical skills.

Ø  Ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
