Manager Procurement

Position Information:Northwest Airlines is seeking a qualified candidate for Manager Procurement in the Technical Operations division of our Materials Management department.  This is a full time position located in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota.

 

Responsibilites:  The purpose of this position is to manage and implement projects that will result in the development and implementation of a center-led management infrastructure, as well as to develop systems that build universal sourcing strategiesaround commodity requirements that enable the company to lower costs, increase quality and reduce delivery times.  This position utilizes existing systems and tools to develop procurement strategies, prioritize opportunities, and negotiate agreements to realize significant savings in goods and service.  In addition, identifies and implements new tools, systems, and processes necessary to enhance Northwest Airlines's ability to aggregate spend and ensure compliance with procurement strategies (e.j., e-catalog project, data warehouse project).

 

Qualifications:  Bachelors degree in Business. 2-4 plus years Northwest Airlines experience, broad business background and general management capabilities, commercial and analytical skills, proven strong project management capabilities, commercial and analytical skills, proven negotiation skills contracting skills, project management skills, strong interpersonal skills.  Understanding of Northwest Airlines internal procurement systems.
