AH-1 Maintenance Test Pilot
Full-time Lear Siegler Services, Inc. a leading DOD contracting company is in need of a talented AH-1 Maintenance Test Pilot in support of our Ft. Drum, NY site. Graduate of Army Aircraft Maintenance Officers Course (AMOC) Phase II (MTP) required. 1000 hours Pilot In Command time as well as 300 hours flying MDS required. FAA Commercial or Airline Transport Pilot rating required.
Pilots aircraft and serves as Aircraft Commander to accomplish maintenance test flight, acceptance and support missions as prescribed by customer requirements.
Must have current FAA or U.S. Army Class II flight physical.

General Job Description:
* Review/observe in-progress maintenance in coordination with maintenance team leads and quality control personnel.
* Perform a review of maintenance/historical/weight and balance records and/or coordinate with maintenance/quality control personnel to determine the maintenance that has been performed and the completion of documentation.
* Perform a thorough flight readiness inspection, properly recording all discrepancies found IAW company inspection/maintenance records and TM 738-751.
* Perform as Pilot in Command of ground run maintenance operational checks and maintenance test flights. Team leader responsible for crew coordination procedures and actions IAW Chapter 6 of applicable Aircrew Training Manual (ATM). Ensures safety procedures are followed in all aircraft operations.
* Plans the test flight mission: performs risk analysis, evaluates weather briefing information, calculates and evaluates performance planning data, reviews crew qualification and capabilities, plans flight path, fuel load, and test flight mission requirements.
* Prepares and submits flight plans, reviews risk analysis with responsible company staff for approval, obtains brief-back, and completes mission schedule brief.
* Briefs the aircrew and ground support personnel on ground run and test flight mission profile, mission and survival equipment requirements, crew actions and responsibilities, weather forecasts, risk assessment considerations, and emergency procedures. Obtains crewmember questions, comments, and acknowledgement of briefing.
* Perform prescribed tests/maneuvers IAW applicable technical and test flight manuals, Army aviation standardization practices, and contract or customer test specifications. Analyze engine, rotor, electrical, avionics/navigation, hydraulic, powertrain, and flight control systems performance during ground and airborne checks. Troubleshoot malfunctions, record performance results and discrepancies, and coordinate corrective actions.
* Upon completion of each test flight and at the conclusion of the final tests, conducts the aircrew debrief, records test results, and communicates an after-action review with applicable management and supervisor personnel.
* Maintains proficiency in all applicable FAA and Army flight subjects, aircraft maintenance technical knowledge, and meets currency requirements in applicable aircraft.
* Provides technical expertise and training on aviation maintenance and safety subjects to company personnel as required.
