Manager, Global Health & Safety

Provide overall strategic direction to advance health and safety strategies globally. Responsible for leading the central organization team charged with health and safety policy implementation, workers' compensation, risk assessment and compliance in the areas of lockout tagout, industrial hygiene, confined space entry, ergonomics, contractor safety management and related safety and health efforts. Serve as the principal liaison for cross-company teams on health and safety issues. Provide leadership related to deployment and implementation of required health and safety management systems to global operations in order to sustain a high level of compliance with federal and international EH&S regulatory requirements as well as internal UTC/P&W policies and procedures. Oversee and foster the safety culture change process. Ensure performance metrics are adequately communicated and measured. Interface routinely with various levels of organization. Develop the H&S leadership pipeline across the global organization. Work collaboratively with union and non-union business units to implement strategic H&S initiatives.

Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, safety engineering, industrial hygiene or related field. A Master's degree is preferred.

10-15 years of increasing responsibility is required. Supervisory experience required. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist designation (CIH) preferred.
