Greenhouse Grower

Floral Plant Growers, LLC is one of the twenty largest greenhouse companies in the nation, with operations based in the Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions.  Our beautiful products include a large variety of annuals and perennials that are marketed primarily to national retail customers.

 

Currently we are seeking dynamic individuals to join our growing staff in the Denmark WI and Boyden IA facilities. 

 

Section Grower responsibilities include:

 Routinely apply standard floricultural practices for the successful propagation and finishing of both grower ready and retail ready products, meeting the timing and physical quality specifications required by the customer.  These practices include, but are not limited to required media, water, nutrient, temperature, light requirements, and proper spacing  as well as effective IPM, PGR and disease preventation and treatment practices.

 Help monitor the picking of orders in assigned section to assure proper crop care prior to shipping, and also proper product specifications are met.

 Follow all aspects of the company's chemical safety programs including the labeled usage, handling requirements, and proper application techniques for all chemicals.

 Help in the training of new growing staff.  Assist in supervising grower assistants and seasonal waterers.

 Work with all available timing and metering devises that control frequency and amount of nutrients to be introducted into the irrigation system.

 Assist other departments as needed to meet customer and organizational needs.

 

Entry level growing positions are also available in both Denmark WI and Boyden IA.
