Equipment Service Technician

Service Technician Position at John Deere Dealership.  Taking application for either Level 1 or Level 2 technicians. Must be familiar with farm tractors and equipment.  Would be good if had some farm experience.  Also looking to fill a Lawn mower technicians position. Should have experience at that position.  Must be able to test for proper operation, using basic test equipment, following Technical procedures.  Must also be able to perform complete component removal, dissembly, and reconditioning on any equipment that we work on.  Must be able to safely operate all machines and maintain a safe work space.  Must conduct themselves in the presence of customers in a manner that promotes a positive image of the company.

 

Essential Duties:Follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work

  assignmentsDiagnose problems and determine what repairs are requiredPerform reconditioning and repair of all machine systems

and componentsPrepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with

  job assignmentsPerform all service tasks as assigned by Service ManagerReport any additional  work required on equipment to the

  Service Manager, for proper and safe operation by customerMaintain a clean and safe work area and perform work in a

  neat and orderly fashion.Bring to the attention of the Service Manager any shop tools,

  equipment or vehicle that is not in a serviceable condition or

is unsafe to use.Always conduct self so as to present a professional image of the

  dealership

 

Skills & Qualifications:Graduation form a John Deere Tech Program, or eqivalent, 

  preferred but not requiredAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,

  operating and maintenance instructions and procedures Ability to write diagnosis and work completed reports and

  correspondenceMust have own toolsAbility to use computers to carry out various types of diagnostic

  proceeduresAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out

  instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.Must be able to work with other employees without causing strife, interference, or hardships due to different personalitiesMust pass drivers license and criminal background check
