Job Requirements and Description

 

BS degree in Aerospace or Mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited institution and a minimum of 1 year applicable engineering experience is required.  Highly proficient in the POST vehicle trajectory optimization tool as well as having a working knowledge of the INTROS and LVA launch vehicle design tools required.  Must possess in-depth knowledge of the CLV and CaLV design and flight performance characteristics as well as demonstrated experience in detailed trajectory and performance analysis of the CLV and CaLV.

 

Duties:

 

Perform launch vehicle design and performance analysis of future aerospace systems including the Crew Launch Vehicle (CLV) and Cargo Launch Vehicle (CaLV).  Support specialized launch vehicle analysis that will be required to support the current CLV and CaLV analysis tasks.  Operate the POST vehicle trajectory optimization tool as well as the INTROS and LVA launch vehicle design tools used by the Advanced Concepts Branch. Plan and perform analyses independently and organize study data and results for documentation and presentation to NASA and other government customers.
