Senior Software Engineer

The candidate will support the software development team at the NASA owned, UTC-PWR operated, Hardware Simulation Laboratory at the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The team is responsible for the development of software utilized to operate the lab and for development of software utilized in the V&V of engine controller software. Specifically applicable: engine simulation software, object oriented design & implementation, multi-threaded real-time distributed architecture, real-time asynchronous event handling, cross compiler development, database design, data reduction.

Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science. Bachelors degree plus 18 years experience or Masters degree plus 12 years experience in a software engineering discipline.

Must have strong experience in developing software for real time systems and strong experience in object oriented programming with C++. Must be comfortable working with at least one of the following: Linux, VxWorks, Integrity, RTLinux, or other commercial real time embedded operating system. Device driver development & BSP development experience a plus. Kernel level programming including comfortable working knowledge of schedulers, etc. a plus. Experience writing compilers or databases a plus.
