Montgomery, AL- Community Outreach Representative

Primary Function:

 

The Community Outreach Representative will be responsible for coordinating and conducting community service outreach activities that place emphasis on wellness and prevention and promote a higher qualify of life for Alabama HealthSpring members and other Medicare recipients in the Alabama HealthSpring service area. 

 

Responsibilities

· Identify primary senior organizations and associated key management staff in assigned service areas. Senior organizations should include but not be limited to: faith-based senior programs, social programs, assisted living facilities, civic activities, city councils, parks and recreations departments, county agencies, government sponsored program and senior centers.  Develop and foster constructive working relationship with senior facility management staff and designated staff members of government agencies and councils.

· Identify senior service needs in assigned service area and develop community service action plans around those senior needs.

· Implement community service activities identified in the Community Outreach Plan.

· Maintain monthly senior activities calendar for each service area.

· Coordinate internal communications with Alabama HealthSpring departments to educate staff on community service opportunities.

· Coordinate community service special events.

· Assist with coordination of ongoing employee community service initiatives 

 

Requirements include:

· College degree or equivalent job experience in Managed Care environment

· Knowledge of CMS Medicare Managed Care Manual rules and regulations.

· Microsoft Office skills.

· Creativity, flexibility, maturity and ability to meet specific deadlines under stressful conditions are a required skill set.

· Effective verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong public relations skills and ability to network.

· Self-starter with excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills and attention to detail.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.

· Ability to work flexible hours (some evenings, weekends and holidays may be required).
