Channel Marketing Director

DIRECTOR, CHANNEL MARKETING



 

 The Director of Channel Marketing has primary responsibility for the identification, development and implementation of channel promotional programs, industry marketing business plans and partnership programs with key customers. This position works closely with all areas of Corporate marketing, Sales, and Business Unit Marketing. 



 

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

·  Create, develop, justify, and execute a promotional calendar for the ID (Industrial Distribution) Sales Channel. 

·  Work proactively with the Big 4 ID partners to develop partnership programs and to measure their success.  Work closely with the National Account Sales group, the East and West Sales Divisions and the Product Groups in program development.  Establish clear objectives and metrics.

·  Implement and maintain the New Product Launch Action Plan.  Improve the quality of materials / value propositions presented to the Sales Force. 

·  Implement, update, and continuously improve the RexRewards program.  Drive for incremental Bearing sales of greater than 10% by participating branches in FY07.

·  Responsible for the Switching Action Plan and countermeasures, if necessary write the countermeasure.

·   Drive interchange improvements at Big 3 Distributors.  Product files / interchange information must be updated and loaded into their systems.

·  Work with National Accounts and Business Intelligence to obtain share data by Product Group and Industry from Big 4. Where appropriate, work with Product Groups to develop plans to counteract any loss of market share.

·  Review, approve, and implement all promotions in the channels. Develop standard work to propose promotional programs, to evaluate the business case and to coordinate across business units.

·  Propose allocation of sales resources to reflect industry priorities.

·  Work with Sales and the Business Units to establish Industry Teams.

·  Work with Corporate Marketing Training Specialist to develop training materials for RexRewards and New Product Launches

·  Liaise proactively with National Accounts, Field Sales Management, Strategic Consumer Accounts, and Business Unit Marketing.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

·  Bachelors degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.

·  10-15 years marketing experience through wholesale channels of distribution.

·  Exceptional communication skills; strong drive for results; solid judgment and decision making; strategic ability; strong customer focus; ability to engage in and contribute to effective teams.
