Help to create physically and emotionally stimulating programs – host parties for special occasions and holidays – even decorate the facility! Communicate your enthusiasm and your caring. Responsibilities:
Evaluate resident's recreational needs and develop appropriate activity programs; develop special programs for residents confined to their rooms

Host special occasion and seasonal parties and decorate the facility

Maintain records of activities and attendance; monitor expenses and stay within the department's budget; supervise Activity Aides

Organize volunteer services including interviewing, selection, orientation and ongoing communication

Coordinate visits by the clergy or other spiritual leaders

Arrange transport of residents to off-site activities

Ensure that equipment and supplies are stored and the area is clean after conclusion of activity


Qualifications


The Activity Aide must have knowledge of programs designed to stimulate adult and geriatric residents and skill in conducting arts/crafts, music, games and associated activities. You'll need to be patient while interacting with residents and be able to maintain confidentiality. Effective communication with residents, their families and at all levels of the organization is important. A High School diploma or equivalent is required; a BS in Recreation preferred.
