Kenworth of Alabama’s Corporate Accounting Department, located in Birmingham, AL, provides accounting and operations support for our dealerships in Birmingham, Dothan, Mobile and Montgomery. We are the largest Kenworth truck dealer in the southeast and one of the top 35 privately held companies in Birmingham. Staff Accountant

 

Due to company expansion, Kenworth of Alabama is seeking an experienced financial accountant with a passion for excellence to join our corporate accounting group. The successful candidate will be an integral contributor to our monthly and annual financial close processes, the production of financial statements and the further development of our business processes and accounting applications. Responsibilities will include balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, preparation of information requests for outside auditors and special projects. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  

 

·         4 year accounting degree from an accredited university or college

·         5 years experience with balance sheet reconciliations, expense analysis, financial statements for multiple companies with multiple profit centers and financial statement production

·         Intermediate to advanced competency in Excel and Microsoft applications

·         Experience must include Internet, Intranet and custom Windows applications in a network environment

·         Strong analytical and problem solving skills are a must

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment

·         High degree of attention to detail
