Manager, Audit

KPMG LLP is the audit, tax and advisory firm with the strongest growth record over the past decade. We offer our clients industry insights and a multidisciplinary range of services. We are currently seeking an Audit Manager to join us in our Birmingham office.
KPMG’s Audit practice uses a methodology that transforms the audit process from a traditional compliance-driven function to a risk-based approach by creating a framework for auditors to assess how a client's business risks affect financial statements. This approach offers a more comprehensive view of how a client's unique risk environment affects its financial reporting.



Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the execution of external audit engagements of various clients, including Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registrants
- Review SEC filings
- Research technical accounting issues
- Manage client accounts including billing, fee analysis and new service development
- Assist with the career development of team members
- Identify performance improvement opportunities for assigned clients
- Work with other Managers to help ensure the proper deployment of the audit staff
- Understand and utilize KPMG’s Audit Methodology

Qualifications:
- Five years of current and/or recent audit public accounting experience
- BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university
- Licensed CPA in the State of Alabama or eligible for reciprocity
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- Applied working knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting procedures
- Able to meet challenging client requirements and provide exceptional service
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and research skills
- Willing and able to travel
