Cost Accountant Pay Range: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00

Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field

Required Skills, Training, Exp:
-2-3 years experience in Manufacturing Accounting
-5-6 years Accounting experience

Preferred Skills, Training, Exp:
Experience in "turn around" type situation
Automotive Industry

Required Computer:
Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access/Other-Mapics Software

Job Responsibilities:
-Responsible for the accumulation and recording of consolidated cost accounting information for the U.S. operations company.
-Provide the analysis and presentation of cost data in accordance with Division requirements.
-Effectively use cost accounting systems, techniques, and data to provide Divisional and Corporate management with reliable cost information on which operating decisions are made.
-Responsible for numerous Cost Accounting Journal Entries and reports required for timely period and annual closing.
-Provides cost data and analysis for product and custom profitability analysis. Assists in recording and analyzing all cost transactions, i.e., COS, scrap, material usage, cycle count, obsolescence, FIFO valuation, etc.
-Assists in investigating and explaining significant variances from budget and forecast on a monthly basis. Assists in preparing internal and external monthly financial reports that relate to inventory and cost data. Assist in the developing and administration of annual departmental budgets.
-Determines and maintains material freight, scrap and other material burden factors. Maintains and monitors standard, current and simulated cost fields.
-Verifies final product structure for accuracy.
-Responsible for maintaining all work center data. Provide backup in other accounting functions.
